SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBAL AND ALTERGLOBAL TRENDS OF THE WORLD SYSTEM

Анотація

The UN adopted the Concept of Sustainable Development. Its goal is to provide countries with the opportunity to achieve 17 Goals. Sustainable development occurs in the context of globalization. Many scientific works reveal this topic. However, researchers pay little attention to the problem - how does sustainable development occur in the context of global and alter-global trends? Therefore, our article is relevant. The author set the goal - to compare these trends in the context of sustainable development and determine the outlines of a sustainable development strategy for Ukraine. This is its novelty. The author revealed the difference between globalization in the liberal paradigm and the essence of alter-globalism from the perspective of sustainable development. The postulates of the liberal paradigm of global development cause a negative reaction from the political forces of alterglobalism. The ideology of the political forces of alterglobalism is radically left-wing. Alterglobal political forces have not only organized their discourse on global problems, including sustainable development, they hold protests, demand a fair distribution of resources for the benefit of the poor. They oppose TNCs. Their methods, although radical, are ineffective. In the context of our problem, the central idea of Y.Habermas is to ensure the consolidation of various political regimes on the basis of a new form of integration of cosmopolitan solidarity. It is important for overcoming poverty and achieving the goals of sustainable development. China, as the leader of BRICS, cannot be outside relations with Western countries, therefore associations such as BRICS will serve as a consolidating link in relations with liberal democracies in the context of sustainable development. Ukraine’s experience in the field of constructive and effective cooperation with liberal democracies is valuable, it should be generalized for further use in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, and in motivating transnational corporations to implement sustainable development goals by developing countries.
