THE FUNCTIONING OF GLOBAL LOGISTICS NETWORKS IN THE CONTEXT OF CONTEMPORARY GEO-ECONOMIC DETERMINANTS

Анотація

This article examines the functioning and development of global transport and logistics networks in the context of globalization, the digitalization of the economy, and geopolitical instability. It identifies the role of transport and logistics networks in facilitating international trade, developing global supply chains, and integrating national economies into the global economic space. The main determinants of the development of transport and logistics systems are analyzed. It is argued that the current development of global transport and logistics networks is accompanied by the digital transformation of logistics, the development of multimodal transport, the automation of logistics processes, and the formation of sustainable logistics systems. The main challenges facing the development of global transport and logistics systems are identified, including transport infrastructure overload, investment shortages, cyber threats, and disruptions to international transport flows. Promising directions for the development of transport and logistics networks are substantiated, related to the integration of digital technologies, the modernization of transport infrastructure, and the development of «green» logistics. Emphasis is placed on the strategic importance of developing Ukraine’s transport and logistics infrastructure and its integration into the European transport system.
