NATIONAL INNOVATION SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT: EVIDENCE FROM THE COUNTRIES OF THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE REGION
Анотація
The given paper is dedicated to the determination of the theoretical aspects of a national innovation system as an analytical tool to evaluate the technological development of any country. The notion of the term "national innovation system" (NIS) is considered by authors. It is emphasized that the concept of NIS became widely used in the last decade of the XX century due to an intensification of interest in studying of how the relationships among industries, various research and development institutions, government bodies and academia could be harnessed to sustain innovation initiatives at micro and macro level. It is proved that the innovation capability of each country greatly depends on the efficiency of its national innovation system. The findings of the analysis indicate that in many cases such a system requires the generation and dissemination of knowledge, along with the utilization of innovation. Consi-derable attention is given to the analysis of the available experience of the countries of the Central and Eastern Europe region in this field.
