Innovative component of ensuring strategic transformations in the sectors of the national economy in the context of sustainable development
Анотація
The article is devoted to the development of the innovative component as a resource for strategic transformations in sectors of Ukraine’s national economy amid post-war recovery, global challenges, and integration processes. The study aims to substantiate the role of innovation as a driver of strategic change across sectors of Ukraine’s national economy amid global, internal political, and post-war challenges. The study presents a conceptual approach to understanding innovation as both a tool for increasing productivity and a mechanism for implementing sustainable development goals and integrating Ukraine into the global space. Innovation is a key means of achieving a new quality of the economy that meets the criteria of environmental sustainability, inclusiveness, and technological neutrality. The evolution of innovation generations is analyzed, revealing the emergence of a new generation of “integrated innovation frames” that facilitate transformational changes across various sectors. It is found that innovation shifts have both technical and socio-economic nature, involving changes in business models, consumer behavior, and institutional mechanisms. The study identifies the key factors influencing the sectors’ capacity for strategic transformation: resource provision, institutional support, partnership development, digitalization, innovation activity, and the presence of sectoral leadership institutions. Sectoral features of innovation in Ukraine are analyzed, showing that the IT, financial, and trade sectors are leaders in innovation development. In contrast, the agricultural, industrial, and energy sectors exhibit low innovation activity due to institutional, financial, and technological barriers. Typical problems in implementing innovation across sectors are identified: low levels of public funding for R&D, weak cooperation among science, business, and government, underdeveloped innovation support infrastructure, brain drain, and limited access to international capital and technology markets. In general, the study demonstrates that the formation of an effective system to support strategic innovation should combine institutional resilience, intersectoral coordination, and an orientation toward sustainable development values. This, in turn, will create conditions for the structural modernization of the national economy, reduce its vulnerability to crises, and lay the foundations for long-term growth based on resilience, inclusiveness, and innovation. Keywords: innovation, innovation development, strategic transformation, sustainable development, sectoral transformation, innovation frames, ecological innovations.
