HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX FOR REGIONS OF RUSSIA AND UKRAINE
Анотація
Human Development Indicator by UN is the most authoritative and popular measure of life quality made on scientific basis. There is moderate difference in the indicator values between regions of Ukraine. It depends for the most part on difference in sub-index of “life-standarts”, which in its turn defined by economic development of particular regions. Application of the index for assessment of life quality and comparison on regional level suffer from some shortcomings, especially important in former USSR countries. They affect sub-index of “education” at maximum. The data is not representative because of total literacy in above mentioned countries.
