INTERNATIONAL LABOR MIGRATION: CURRENT TRENDS AND GLOBAL PRACTICES

Анотація

International labour migration is an economic phenomenon which has a considerable influence on the operation and expansion of different national and global labour markets. The causes and effects of international labour migration processes differ between donor and recipient countries. The global economy and the economies of individual countries are affected by international labour migration. The study of the patterns and outcomes of labour migration during and after war is highly applicable to Ukraine. The study focuses on international labour migration as an economic phenomenon. The subject of the study is the current trends and global practices of international labour migration. The study aims to clarify the scientific and theoretical foundations that regulate international labour migration and substantiate its current global trends and practices. The research tasks are: to clarify the essence of the concepts "labour migration" and "international labour migration"; to consider the causes and consequences of international labour migration for donor and recipient countries; to substantiate the global trends of international labour migration; to conduct an analysis of migration processes in Ukraine; to analyse the impact of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine on the development of international labour migration; to propose measures and instruments for regulating labour migration in Ukraine. The research methodology utilises various analytical and theoretical methods including analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, as well as the monographic method for examining the theoretical foundations of international labour migration regulation. Additionally, the study employs methods of grouping, comparison, and regression analysis to identify and examine global trends in international labour migration. Finally, the generalisation method is used to develop effective conclusions and recommendations based on research findings. The study results clarify scientific and methodological principles for regulating international labour migration. This is achieved through a more precise categorical apparatus, improved analytical support and defined directions for regulation. The research has practical potentialfor managing migration processes in Ukraine across the macro-, meso-, and micro-economic levels by utilizing successful foreign practices. The study's uniqueness resides in the prospect of implementing its findings across various management levels in Ukraine's wartime and post-war economy. A noteworthy aspect of this research is the cohesive nature of the analytical establishment of oversight for global labour migration, which facilitates a broad range of practical uses. The development of efficient mechanisms for managing international labor migration processes on a global scale and the establishment of effective tools for regulating labor migration in Ukraine's post-war economy are key prospects for further scientific research in this field.
