The Methodical Bases for Analyzing the Level of Payments in the Insurance Market of Ukraine

The article is concerned with the methodical provisions of analysis of the level of payments in the insurance market of Ukraine. The level of payments is researched in the context of two main producers of insurance services: the insurance companies that provide insurance for types other than life insurance («non-life»); «life» insurance companies. A methodology of analyzing the level of payments in the context of basic types of insurance is suggested: life insurance; voluntary personal insurance; voluntary property insurance; voluntary liability insurance; non-State compulsory insurance, in particular civil liability insurance for vehicle owners. The highest level of payments in the activities of «non-life» insurance companies is determined in the context of the following types: voluntary personal insurance and civil liability insurance of vehicle owners. It is noted that almost equal level of payments, which is observed in the activities of insurance companies over the past five years, should not be considered a negative tendency, as there is an annual increase in the amount of insurance payments and insurance premiums. The growth of the latter is the evidence that a growing number of insurants are using the services of insurance companies. It indicated that it is feasible and useful to use analytical information as to the level of payments by such users: directly by insurers (in order to regulate the management of companies' activities, which will help to control their profitability); insurants (in order to confirm the correctness of decision to cooperate with insurance companies).
