Heuristic Potential of Liminality Concepts in Political Research (Ukrainian / Post-Ukrainian Case)

Анотація

The article attempts to determine the possibilities of applying the concepts of liminality in political research. The analysis of mainly foreign concepts of liminality is carried out, the main aspects of liminality are determined, and their applicability to the explanation of socio-political phenomena and processes is assessed. The developed conceptual approach is applied to the explanation of the regional peculiarities of Ukraine. The authors concludes that certain provisions of the concepts of liminality have explanatory power in relation to transients and states of socio-political objects, as well as in determining the characteristics of special hybrid spaces, in particular, regions. It is obvious that regions with a dual (hybrid) nature are liminal, and the population becomes the bearer of a special identity that does not fully coincide with the national one, although it is focused on regional characteristics.
