Spatial and structural dominants of socio-economic changes in ukraine: impact on population quality of life under external threats
Анотація
The article substantiates the spatial and structural dominants of socio-economic changes in Ukraine in the context of their impact on the quality of life of the population under external threats. The purpose of the study is to identify the key determinants of the spatial transformation of Ukraine’s socio-economic development under wartime conditions and during post-war recovery. The methodological framework of the research is based on systemic, structural-functional, spatial, comparative, and logical-analytical approaches, which enabled a comprehensive assessment of transformations in the territorial organization of socio-economic processes. The study identifies the principal determinants of the spatial and structural transformation of Ukraine’s economy resulting from the full-scale war, including shifts in the localization of the population, labor force, industrial capacity, logistics flows, and economic activity. A system of spatial and structural dominants of socio-economic transformation is substantiated, encompassing the enhancement of territorial resilience, structural modernization, and diversification of the economy; the development of urban agglomerations and growth poles; the implementation of a territorially oriented recovery policy; and the integration of sectoral and spatial approaches to development governance. Scientific novelty lies in the development of an integrated conceptual framework for the spatial and structural determinants of socio-economic transformation in Ukraine amid war and systemic external shocks. The practical significance of the research results lies in the possibility of applying the proposed provisions in the formation of state regional policy, spatial development strategies, and post-war reconstruction programs aimed at increasing territorial cohesion, competitiveness, and resilience. Prospects for further research include developing methodological approaches to assess the effectiveness of implementing the identified dominants at the national, regional, and local governance levels, as well as elaborating analytical tools to monitor spatial transformation processes in the context of European integration and long-term recovery. Keywords: spatial development, structural transformation, regional policy, quality of life, territorial resilience, spatial and structural dominants, post-war recovery, Ukraine.
