Methodological Basis and Specifics of Assessing Factors in the Development of tThe Potential of Agricultural Enterprises.

Subject of study is the methodological basis for assessing the factors influencing the development of the economic potential of agricultural enterprises under conditions of environmental instability and increasing competition. The aim of the article is to substantiate the conceptual and methodological framework for evaluating internal and external factors that determine the formation, transformation, and effective use of the economic potential of agricultural enterprises, taking into account sectoral specificity. Research methods. The methodological foundation of the study is based on a combination of general scientific and special methods, including abstract-logical generalization for clarifying the essence of economic potential, systematization and classification for structuring influencing factors, comparative analysis of scientific approaches, and a structural-functional method for developing a coherent model of assessment. Results of work. The article generalizes existing theoretical approaches to the interpretation of enterprise potential and systematizes methodological principles for assessing the factors of its development. A comprehensive set of interrelated principles is substantiated, including determinism, systemacity, optimality, objectivity, adequacy, hierarchy, completeness, continuity, and flexibility. These principles form the conceptual core of the methodological framework and ensure the logical coherence of analytical procedures. The study proposes a structured model of assessment that differentiates factors according to levels of influence: macro-environmental, micro-environmental, and internal factors. Such differentiation allows for a more precise identification of dominant determinants of development and prevents excessive fragmentation of analytical indicators. A step-by-step procedure for factor evaluation is substantiated, including identification and classification of factors, integral aggregation of partial indicators through a generalized impact matrix, interpretation of results, and formulation of scientifically grounded managerial recommendations. It is demonstrated that the proposed methodological approach enhances the validity of strategic decision-making, strengthens the competitive position of agricultural enterprises, and contributes to their sustainable development at operational, tactical, and strategic levels. The practical significance of the research lies in the possibility of applying the developed framework in analytical and planning activities of agricultural enterprises to minimize risks and improve long-term performance.
